Dissent Scars Book 2 edition by Jessica Gadziala Literature Fiction eBooks
We first met Isaiah in his sister's book, For a Good Time Call. He was raised by a warped religious father who believed women should only cook and clean and used beatings as punishment. Isaiah is therefore unable to trust and connect to women and hasn't allowed himself to get close to one. Until he meets his neighbor, Darcy. She's in a band and she's loud and opinionated and absolutely beautiful. To get closer to Darcy, Isaiah joins her road crew. Turns out a stalker is after Darcy as well.A romantic suspense.

Dissent Scars Book 2 edition by Jessica Gadziala Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Loved, loved, loved this story. Was so sad learning all about Isaiah's brutal background growing up with such a horrid father. Loved the romance build between Darcy and Isaiah on the road. And their relationship was smouldering HOT! Enjoyed every second of this little mystery/romance story! This story is a definite re-read for me!
Absolutely love all of Jessica's books. This one was just a amazing
On the heels of "For a Good Time Call..." comes the story of Fiona's brother, Isaiah. Isaiah was also a victim of their father's abusively strict religious upbringing. After his father's death, with the help of his sister, Isaiah learns about the real world. 6 years later he is living his life with empty sexual conquests. His new neighbor, Darcy is a free spirited rock star. He finds her a breath of fresh air and a challenge to conquer. Attempting to learn more about her he joins her road crew. They get close but when a stalker gets too close things fall apart.
This story is a slow burn with a meteor shower. We get romance, suspense, and mystery all rolled into one really great read. Watching Isaiah discover what is most important to him as well as seeing Darcy come to terms with what and who she believes in was a treat.. Another hard to put down book by a favorite author..
*this book I bought*
Wow. Not what I expected but love it, I did! At first I wasn't sure what I would think about this book and I put it off for a long time. Why oh why?! A brilliant read! The characters are real and so touchable. Highly suggest!
This book tore me up and spit me out. I cried, laughed then cried some more. The beauty love brings is shown in this book beautifully. Way to go Jessica! Looking forward to devouring the rest of her books.
Ok I have been on a Jessica binge reading all her books. This one is definitely top 3 of her many great ones. The depth and story was great. I thought I wouldn’t be interested in this one but loved it
Warning, my review may trigger people. If you are sensitive, want flowery words, bs, or innate all the way around happiness, then stop reading here.
In reality, Jessica warns in all her books that there might be triggers. Why do you ask? She warns because she writes books that are nitty, gritty, and deal with the worst parts of human nature. She doesn't shy away from the darkness but yet embraces it and gives it a new type of light that I've never experienced before.
I've read every single one of Jessica's books but I hesitated before this one because of the subject matter. I'm all for reading the reality of humans but sometimes even I wonder if I can handle it. With that being said, I am so glad that I took a chance on this book! I LOVED it!
Not for the reasons you are thinking. If you are intuned and wanting flowery romance that never has a problem, they never fight more than a spat here or there, or leave you feeling the warm and fuzzies, then this is NOT the book for you. In fact, I'd hesitate to ask why you've even looked towards this genre at all.
This book has both a flawed hero and heroine. I've read other reviews that I don't believe in. It is OKAY as a woman to own up to your sexuality. If you love sex, GREAT! Protect yourself and be smart about it. There is NO shame is having a high sex drive. There is also no shame in having a low one. I know some will say "oh but women don't need sex as often as men" and I'd hate to tell them that its "bs" to the nth degree. Women may look like they don't need it as often but some do and some own that.
The flawed aspects of the two leading people in this book is what helps me draw all of this together. They each have pasts, histories, and things that they are trying to move past. They each have their own life. Isn't that how real life really works? Two people usually from different aspects of life come together to create an outstanding couple? What is wrong with building, growing together, and becoming different?
I for one LOVE this book and I am so glad that I took that chance.
